9-Hour Late Lake Shore Limited

Amtrak trains usually aren't seen in daylight in northeast Ohio unless they are really late. Such was the case on January 4, 2010, when the eastbound Lake Shore Limited arrived in Cleveland at 2:35 p.m., 9 hours and 25 minutes late. The train had departed Chicago the night before just over 4.5 hours late and managed to lose 5 more hours en route. The train arrived at New York's Penn Station at 4:02 a.m., 9 hours and 37 minutes late. No. 48 is shown at Painesville at 3:18 p.m. (Photograph by Jeff Troutman)
