Akron Metro will begin bus service to the new Rocksino casino at the Northfield Park racetrack in suburban Cleveland effect Jan. 2.
The winter bus schedule being implemented that day calls for a revised Route 102 that will leave the Robert K. Pfaff Transit Center on South Broadway in Akron en route to Northfield Park with stops at the turnaround at Howe Road and Main Street at Chapel Hill Mall and the Macedonia bus stop at Highland and Chamberlin roads.
Akron Metro’s new schedule will include changes to 11 existing routes while creating a new Route 104 that will go from the Transit Center north to state Route 303, Terex and Darrow roads in Hudson, Enterprise Parkway in Twinsburg and end at Metro’s Creekside Park and Ride Lot on Creekside Drive in Twinsburg.
Other Metro changes include:
• An additional afternoon bus on Route 12 (north from the Transit Center to Tallmadge Avenue and Chapel Hill Mall).
• The Stow Circulator (Route 31) will end at the Independence Turnaround and connect to Routes 7, 10, 12, 19, 23, 34 and 59.
• Route 101 will go beyond Katherine Boulevard and meet Cleveland RTA’s Route 77.
• Route 103 in the Stow area will serve the Clarion Inn but not Laurel Lake.
Other routes changing are 3, 6, 12, 18, 26 and 34.
