The Orrville Railroad Heritage Society will celebrate National Train Day with train rides and displays on May 10 between noon and 4 p.m.

There will be train and track car rides starting from 245 McGill Street in Orrville. The Orrville Union Depot and Gift Shop will be open and other historic sites in Orrville may be open for tours.

Tickets will be available trackside the day of the event only. They will cost $2 per ride for adults and $1 for children (ages 12 and under)

The ORHS coach train will be operated on the Wheeling secondary to the W&LE’s mainline at Orrville Junction and return.

The track cars will run between train runs, leaving the loading area and following the same route. Parking is available near the train and track cars and also near the depot. Snacks and soda pop will be available at trackside.

The Orrville event will be one of many planned across the United States on the seventh National Train Day.

According to Amtrak, 210 locations in 43 states are planning events or celebrations at train stations, railroad museums and other locations.
