On Sunday morning at about 8 a.m. in Kent the Akron Barberton Cluster local derailed at the switch from the Wheeling & Lake Erie onto the former Erie, resulting in three grain cars on the ground.
The train is about eight or nine cars long with the three derailed are right in the middle. From the looks of it the train derailed on the switch.
Several W&LE management types were on the scene, but they didn’t know if wreckers will come from Brewster or from a private contractor.
The grain cars seemed to snap off their trucks. I enclosed a few picture. They were all I could get before I was remonstrated with by the crews.
