Railfest 2020 has been canceled due to COVID-19 concerns.
The annual two-day train show held at Lake Lake Land Community College in Kirtland posted a notice on its website that the host venue will not allow the event to be held in the wake of Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine issuing an order banning events of more than 100 people.
The train show had been scheduled to be held this weekend (March 14 and 15) and is billed as the largest continuous two-day train show in the state.
The event sponsor is the Western Reserve Division, Mid Central Region 5 of the National Model Railroad Association.
The event is normally held on the third weekend of March, but its actual dates as subject to space availability at the college.
The governor’s order does not affect typical office environments, schools, restaurants, factories, or retail or grocery stores but it does apply to auditoriums, stadiums, arenas, large conference rooms, meeting halls, cafeterias, or any other confined indoor or outdoor space.
