What a memory! I have no idea what caused the traffic jam on the Erie Lackawanna in Kent.
My good friend and fellow railfan the late Mike Ondecker (on the left) and I were at the west end of the EL’s Kent Yard where five trains were waiting on July 22, 1973.
The westbound locomotives are from left to right EL 2508 (GE U25B), EL 3627 (EMD SD45), and EL 813 (EMD E8A).
Needless to say this photo can’t be repeated.
