Chessie High Hood in Massillon

It looks battered and bruised and some might note that the long hood is in front.

But the photographer said the light “looks so good this way.”

We’re looking at Baltimore & Ohio GP9 in Massillon on March 22, 1986.

Today the former B&O line in Massillon on which this image was made is operated by R.J. Corman Railroad group.

Built in May 1955 as B&O No. 687 the 6437 would later go to work on the Indiana Rail Road where it carried roster number 300.
