ARRC Cancels July, August Meetings

The Akron Railroad Club has canceled its July and August meetings.

The cancellations were prompted after the New Horizons Christian Church, where the club meets, decided to remain closed until mid September.

Programs for both monthly meetings had yet to be announced. The ARRC last held a monthly meeting in February.

ARRC also plans to hold a second Dave McKay Day outing in Berea on Aug. 1.

The original McKay Day had been set for the first Saturday in May, but it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, an unofficial McKay Day gathering was held that day.

The fate of the annual ARRC July picnic has yet to be decided. Officers are expected to make a decision later this week on whether to hold the picnic.

Traditionally, the picnic has been held on the Sunday following the July meeting.
