New STB Member Primus Seated

Robert Primus took his seat this week on the U.S. Surface Transportation Board.

Primus is a Democratic members of the Board and has worked in a range of railroad policy areas during his time as a a congressional staff member.

He was nominated for the STB last year and confirmed by the Senate last November.

Primus’ congressional career began in 1991 working for the late Senator Frank Lautenberg of New Jersey.

From 2002 to 2018, Primus was chief of staff for former U.S. Rep. Michael Capuano of Massachusetts, and more recently for U.S. Rep. Tony Cardenas of California.
