Norfolk Southern has appointed Hunt Cary as vice president of operations efficiency.
He will begin his duties Feb. 15 and report to Chief Operating Officer Cindy Sanborn.
Cary has 28 years of experience in the railroad industry and most recently served as vice president of intermodal operations at Union Pacific.
He previously worked at NS as rail terminal superintendent in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Cary began his railroad career at NS in 1993 as a transportation management trainee.
In 2003 he became a superintendent of Canadian National’s Michigan zone, eventually becoming vice president of supply-chain solutions.
He was hired by UP in 2018 as assistant vice president of service and strategy.
