What’s Been Pulling the CVSR This Summer

A pair of leased Horizon Rail units have been pulling Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad trains this summer.

On the south end of the train have been GP40-2 No. 6321 and a rebuilt EMD road slug, No. 2328.

The 6321 was built in March 1978 for the Chesapeake & Ohio. It later spent time on the CSX motive power roster before Horizon acquired it.

The 2328 was built in May 1968 for the Louisville & Nashville as a GP30. It was rebuilt as a road slug by CSX.

The National Park Scenic is shown at Akron Northside Station on July 10, 2021.
