Norfolk Southern grain train 54G passes a cemetery in Sommerville, Ohio, in the southwestern corner of the Buckeye state. The New Castle District tracks were at one time part of a Chicago-Cincinnati route of the Pennsylvania Railroad.
NS trains on this route still link Cincinnati and Chicago, but via a more roundabout path given that the former Pennsy line west of New Castle, Indiana, via Kokomo and Logansport is mostly abandoned. The New Castle District extends from Cincinnati to Fort Wayne and north of its namesake city uses former Nickel Plate Road track.
