The group had earlier ended its operations and agreed to disband. It assets, which have been valued at more than $85,000, will now go to the Tunnel City Railway and Transportation Fund.
The Fund was created in cooperation with the Community Foundation of St. Clair County. It’s mission is to support preservation and restoration of historic transportation items.
PH&DRHS was formed in 2008 and restructured itself in 2021 after a former society office pleaded guilty in court to stealing funds from the group.
But no on volunteered to serve on a new board of directors and dissolution proceedings began last September.
