Twenty-four freight rail infrastructure projects will receive funding from the Pennsylvania State Transportation Commission.
The agency said it will disburse $26 million in state grants ranging from $119,000 to $3 million from the Department of Transportation’s Rail Transportation Assistance Program and Rail Freight Assistance Program.
The projects to be funded are spread throughout the state. Some grants will be issued to railroad companies while other grants will go to rail shippers to expand or improve the rail infrastructure on their property.
