CSX Reaches Another Paid Sick Leave Pact

CSX said it recently reached an agreement with the Sheet Metal, Air, Rail and Transportation Workers-Mechanical Department (SMART-MD) union on paid sick leave.

It is the ninth such pact CSX has reached with its labor unions.

Terms of the latest agreement were not released, but previous pacts have included four days of paid sick leave with the option to convert other paid days off into sick leave.

CSX is the first Class 1 Railroad to reach an agreement on sick leave with a union representing operating employees.
