Cincinnati Short Line Being Sold

A Cincinnati area short line railroad is being acquired by a short line holding company.

3i RR Holdings GP and Regional filed noted with the U.S. Surface Transportation Board of the plans to acquire the Cincinnati Eastern Railroad.

CE operates over 69 miles of track that it leases from Norfolk Southern between Cincinnati and Peebles, Ohio. It interchanges with NS at Clare Yard.

Currently CE does not connect with any other rail lines owned or controlled by other 3i RR and Regional Rail railroads.

The filing with the STB said no significant changes in rail services provided by CE are expected as a result of the acquisition.
