2010

April 3: 6th annual Dave McKay Day  held at  Berea.

June 6: Outing to the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum in Washington, Pa.

June 27: Longest day outing in Bellevue.

July 23: J. Gary Dillon made a lifetime ARRC member and honored for his years of service to the club. Clint Ensworth was presented a certificate to commemorate his contributions to the ARRC over the years.

July 25: Picnic at Warwick Park in Clinton; 12 trains were recorded.

August 28 and 29: Overnighter outing to Cumberland, Md.

September 16: Night photo shoot of Nickel Plate Road steam locomotive No. 765 held at Fitzwater shops of the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.

November 14: ARRC members go to the movies to see Unstoppable, a film that used Wheeling & Lake Erie motive power repainted to create a fictional railroad.

November 4: Clint Ensworth, a 42-year ARRC member, dies at age 86.

November 20: Members night pays tribute to the Cuyahoga  Valley Scenic Railroad.

December 4: Christmas banquet held at the Martin Center. Program by Jerry Jordak about his travels along U.S. Route 66.

2011

April 2: 7th Dave McKay Day held at Berea.

April 22: John P. “Jack” Wunderle, the last known ARRC member to have belonged to ARRC predecessor group Eastern Ohio Chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, dies at age 90.

April 23: ARRC celebrates its 75th anniversary with a banquet at the Martin Center. The speaker was Jim Wrinn, editor of Trains magazine.

June 26: Longest day outing in Deshler.

July 24: Annual picnic held at Warwick park in Clinton; 17 trains were recorded.

August 27 and 28: Overnighter outing to Cassandra, Pa.

September 9: Dr. Harold Vaughn “Doc” Smith, a longtime ARRC member who served as president from 1976 to 1978, dies at age 90.

October 1: Outing on the Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority rail lines and tour of the RTA shops.

November 12: Member’s night held.

Dec. 3: Christmas banquet held at the Martin Center. Program by Peter Bowler about trains of Europe, including steam trains in Poland.

2012

February 5: Edward Treesh, the oldest current ARRC member, dies at age 94.

March 25:  Trip on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad.

April 7: 8th annual Dave McKay Day held at Berea.

June 24: Longest day outing in Fostoria.

July 29: Annual summer picnic held at Willis Picnic Area of the Bedford Reservation, the first time the event was held at this site; 25 trains were recorded.

August 11: ARRC member Eli Rantanes dies at age 87.

August 25 and 26: Overnighter to Waterloo, Ind.

October 26: Members vote to increase due to $16 a year. They also authorized the purchase of a new laptop computer.

November 16: Member’s night pays tribute to 30 years of Norfolk Southern.

December 1: Last Christmas banquet held with 30 in attendance at the Martin Center for a program by Dave Beach that paid tribute to his father and long-time ARRC member John Beach.

2013

January 21: Richard Culin, known for his lighthearted manner of nominating ARRC officers to be re-elected to their positions, dies at age 80

April 6: 9th annual Dave McKay Day at Berea.

June 1: Tour of the Age of Steam Roundhouse in Sugar Creek.

June 23: Longest day outing in Marion.

July 28: Annual summer picnic at Willis Picnic Area of the Bedford Reservation; 18 trains recorded.

August 11: Railfan outing in Vermilion

November 23: Member’s night was held.

November 30: First end of year dinner attended by 34 at Beef O Brady’s in Stowe. Program by Marty Surdyk featuring slides taken by his father, William Surdyk, between 1951 and 1955.

December 3: ARRC member Dennis Bydash dies at age 66.

2014

April 5: 10th annual Dave McKay Day at Berea.

June 22: Longest day outing in Deshler.

July 27: Annual summer picnic at Warwick Park in Clinton; 15 trains recorded.

August 16: Railfan outing in Vermilion.

August 24: Railfan outing in Alliance and the Sebring Model Railroad Club

November 29: 2nd annual end of year dinner at Beef ‘O Brady’s in Stowe.
