2009 Longest Day in Marion

Almost all eyes are on an approaching Norfolk Southern southbound train as the photographers cluster on the stairs of AC tower.

Rick Houck (left) and Jerry Dietry (right) were the first ARRC members to arrive in Marion for the longest day outing. No word as to whether Jerry voluntarily allowed Tim Krogg to use his chair as they waited for a train to show up.

A retired operator who worked in Marion’s AC tower was on hand to explain the workings of the tower during the afternoon of the ARRC longest day outing. Stting at the operator’s desk is Tim Krogg.
