There was plenty of fellowship and probably a few tall tales exchanged over dinner at the ARRC 75th anniversary banquet. At the table closest to the camera are Roger Durfee (left), Bob Rohal (back to camera), Peter Bowler and Bob Redmond (blue sweater).
ARRC member Roger Durfee tells about the first program that he presented: “The Changes in Akron’s Railroads.”
Dinner begins! Officers, members and guests at the head table.
What’s a banquet without technical difficulties? It took about 20 minutes for the ARRC braintrust to figure out how to get the sound to play throught the speakers of the music and image programs. Shown are (left to right) Peter Bowler, Craig Sanders and Todd Vander Sluis. Looking on is Marty Surdyk. Also lending a hand was Dave Beach.
“I think I finally hear sound coming out of this thing.”
