The Federal Transit Administration will award $11 million in grants through the Accelerating Innovative Mobility initiative to support innovative transit technologies and practices that encourage travelers to use public transportation, promote economic development and enhance mobility.
Those eligible for the grants include public transportation providers, state and local departments of transportation and federally recognized Indian tribes. Half of the grants will be awarded to projects in rural areas.
In a news release, FTA said applicants are encouraged to partner with other entities.
Proposals are due April 17.
