Erie Lackawanna Alco RS3 No. 918 is in the Brier Hill engine facility in Girard on July 15, 1973. The unit was built for the Erie Railroad so this is familiar territory for it.

When N&W Ruled in Bellevue

December 31, 2020

Norfolk & Western Alco RS36 No. 2865 is paired with an Alco-repowered FM Train Master as hump power in Bellevue on May 28, 1973. As far as I know, I never took the two together in one photo. The 2865 was built for the Nickel Plate Road in February 1962 as No. 865.

Rare Sighting

December 21, 2019

Delaware & Hudson RS-36 No. 5020 leads a quartet of four axle Alco locomotives eastbound past the Erie Lackawanna passenger station in Akron in the late 1960s. I have been told this is a rare photo because the D&H usually only used six axle ALCO’s on the EL.
