C&O ‘Heritage Unit’ in Lake County I

April 5, 2018

I had a chance to catch the PRLX 4834 today after work. Crappy weather, but at least it was leading the W10. It is shown at Milepost 168 in Wickliffe at the West 305th Street crossing in the top photo and at Painesville on the trestle crossing the Grand River.

C&O ‘Heritage Unit’ in Lake County II

The C&O lettered PRLX engine came through Cleveland on Wednesday, this time leading train W10 on the former Nickel Plate Road. I got it crossing the Painesville trestle over the Grand River. As for how it got painted with C&O markings, I don’t know. There’s a lot of speculation about it.  I think it was done at PRLX by an employee.

That ‘C&O’ Heritage Locomotive

On Monday the controversial Chesapeake & Ohio painted engine that has been leased by Norfolk Southern went through Northeast Ohio on train 15V. I caught up with it in Wooster and again at Mansfield. It is shown in the top image going under an old bridge at Lucas and in the bottom image in Mansfield.
