It is July 27, 1987, in Massillon. Seaboard No. 6821 leads the Dover local southward toward Dover.
The train is crossing the Conrail Fort Wayne Line at CP Mace. Originally B&O trackage, today this track is owned by R.J. Corman. The Corman track today enters the Fort Wayne line, now owned by Norfolk Southern, at a switch and almost immediately leaves the NS tracks at a second switch.
Eastbound Conrail C40-8W No. 6111 has just split the westbound Pennsylvania Railroad position light home signals at CP Mace on the Fort Wayne Line in Massillon in August 1998. Built in March 1991, this unit later was assigned to CSX as part of the Conrail split in 1999. It later would be dealt to General Electric leasing.
Here are two with some fall color taken on Nov. 1, 2021, in Massillon. An R.J. Corman GP20 is entering a short stretch of Norfolk Southern at CP Mace as it heads south. In the other image, the 4119 has left the NS Fort Wayne Line and is branching back to Corman rails.
NS 4390 leads a herd of its stablemates on eastbound at CP Mace in Massillon on June 12, 2021. The train is on the Fort Wayne Line, which these days sees only a few trains a day.
Sometimes a photo brings a smile. Here is R.J. Corman GP9 No. 9003 heading south on Conrail at CP Mace in Massillon in mid-1997. The 9003 and its train are stretched out in such a way that most if not all of the train is visible which adds to the photo’s interest. The train will be on Conrail for a short time before switching back to its own rails. The 9003 is a former Baltimore & Ohio locomotive.
Conrail SD40-2 No. 6470 leads an eastbound trailer train through Mace in Massillon in May 1979. The 6470 was built by EMD for Conrail in 1978. The trailing unit appears to be a GP40 still in Penn Central black with minimal Conrail markings.

In the top image, NS SD70ACe leads a westbound manifest freight. Behind this train was a local led by GP38-3 No. 5822. It is shown in the middle image. The 5822 was rebuilt from an GP50 originally built for the Southern Railway in 1981
The third image shows the east end of the westbound local, which is being pulled by the 5822. On the east end is SD40E No. 6308.
