CSX Pays Tribute to Georgia Railroad

Another CSX heritage unit has taken to the rails. The shop in Waycross, Georgia, released No. 1834, which pays tribute to the Georgia Railroad.

It is the 16th heritage unit to be released by Class 1 carrier.

The Georgia Railway was founded in 1833 as the Georgia Railroad and Banking Company. The banking company in the railroad was once one of the largest in the peach state.

Georgia Railroad would later become part of the Seaboard Coast Line system.

Other CSX heritage units include tributes to the Pittsburgh & Lake Erie; Family Lines; Pere Marquette; Richmond, Fredericksburg & Potomac; Baltimore & Ohio; Chessie System; Seaboard System; Conrail; Chesapeake & Ohio; Louisville & Nashville; Atlantic Coast Line; New York Central; Monon; Western Maryland; and Seaboard Coast Line.
