We’re in Marion in November 1970. On the Chesapeake & Ohio line that runs from Toledo to Columbus we see an eastbound merchandise train. This being the era before the end of train device there is a caboose on the rear. Did anyone in 1970s have any inkling that this common sight would be vanishing several years from now?

Did the passenger platforms on the C&O extend north of the diamonds?
