EL Monday: Banging the Creston Diamonds

Erie Lackawanna E8A No. 816 leads a westbound manifest freight across the diamonds with Norfolk & Western in Creston in March 1976. The 816 was built for the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western in April 1951. Although built for passenger service, it began hauling freights after the last EL intercity passenger train was discontinued in January 1970. The 816 would be scrapped at Pielet Brothers in 1977.
