The Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad has estimated that it will lose more than $2 million in revenue this year as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
In a message posted on its website and also distributed via an email blast, CVSR said it has furloughed more than half of its full-time employees and all of its part-time employees.
CVSR has cancelled all scheduled train operations through April 30.
The non-profit railroad has asked for donations to help it make it through the pandemic.
It has also posted videos on social media, including one that was made from a high-rail truck during a track inspection and a look inside the Fitzwater shops.
The videos can be viewed at the CVSR Facebook page.
The email message also encouraged leaning about the history of the railroad’s fleet on its website at http://www.cvsr.org.
