Reading & Northern said its 4-8-4 No. 2102 passed all of its test runs and is ready to enter excursion service in late May.
The former Reading Company T-1 steamer made three days of test trips in early April.
Those followed a $2.4 million five-year project to rebuild the locomotive. It had been out of service since October 1991.
The first of R&N’s Iron Horse Rambles will run on May 28 from Outer Station in Reading, Pennsylvania, on a round trip to Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania.
